Hello!

All original artwork is hand-crafted by Daphne Lee, in Virginia, USA. Designs may be similar but no two pieces will ever be the same, as is the nature of handmade artwork. By purchasing an original you are getting a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of artwork.
Every artwork has a JUDiTH+ROLFE label on the back stating the artwork title and year.
Certificates of Authenticity are provided for select artwork, or upon request.

Materials

All paper and mat board used are acid-free and/or archival, and will resist fading over time.
We aim to use Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified, sustainable, eco-preferable, and/or recycled products wherever possible.
The adhesive used is pH-neutral archival Polyvinyl Acetate (PVA) glue that dries clear.

The archival panel referenced in some of the artwork descriptions is Ampersand Museum Series Gessobord or Hardbord.
The composite board referenced in some of the artwork descriptions is Gatorfoam board.

Frames

All frame dimensions listed are approximate, +/- 1/8”.

Unless otherwise noted, all artwork comes in a ready-to-hang shadowbox frame. D-rings and picture hanging wire are attached to the back of the frame.

Some work is framed at the studio with standard frame-grade acrylic glazing that has some UV protection properties that will help preserve and protect the art from light damage. Alternate frame finishes may be available, please contact us prior to purchase.

Some work is professionally framed, by a local framer here in Virginia, either with Museum Glass or Optium Museum Acrylic as noted in the description. Both glazing types virtually eliminate reflections and block 99% of UV rays, preventing fading.

The frame is included in ‘as is’ condition. Every effort will be made to provide a shadowbox frame in good condition, but occasionally the frame may have minor scratches, marks, dings, etc. Don’t worry, these slight imperfections should not detract from the artwork.

Care

Important: Keep the artwork away from direct sunlight, moisture, and excessive temperatures. Avoid hanging in areas where condensation may occur. Avoid hanging near excessive heat sources, such as radiators and steam pipes.

Both Museum Glass and Optium Museum Acrylic will provide 99% UV protection and are anti-reflective. The Optium Museum Acrylic has the added benefits of abrasion resistance, anti-static and shatter resistance.

The frame-grade acrylic glazing on the shadowbox frame has some UV protection properties and will help preserve and protect your artwork from light damage.

JUDiTH+ROLFE will not be held responsible for changes in the artwork due to climate, humidity, moisture, mold, warping or any other events that occur over time outside of our control.

Cleaning

Use gentle compressed air or a manual rocket air blower to clear away any dirt or dust from the glazing surface.

If additional spot cleaning is needed, use the following techniques:

  • Place the artwork on a clean, flat surface.

  • Use a clean, dry, soft, lint-free cloth to clean using circular motions; a premium anti-static microfiber cloth is recommended.

  • If necessary, spray a small amount of ammonia-free cleaner – such as Brillianize Cleaner & Polish – onto the cloth. Press the cloth against the surface and clean in round, circular motions to buff and polish the glazing. Spraying on the cloth will prevent over-spray.

Alternative wet method cleaning for Optium Museum Acrylic:

  • Mix distilled water and isopropyl alcohol 1:1.

  • Spray on microfiber cloth.

  • Use cloth to clean glazing using circular motions.

  • Optional: dry off with second microfiber cloth.

DO NOT use paper towels as they may cause scratches to the face of the acrylic.

DO NOT use acrylic cleaners or polishing agents.

DO NOT use ammonia-based products, like Windex or other generic cleaners, as they contain chemicals that may damage the surface of the acrylic.
